Jackson Hole Land Trust View22 2018

Jackson Hole Land Trust View22 2018

Again this year, I'm honored to be a part of Jackson Hole Land Trust's View22 project. This year we are taking a new approach - the Four Seasons approach. Artists, like myself and 18 others from the community, will visit and paint each season at our designated location. This year I was given the R Lazy S Ranch.

I recently visited the R Lazy S Ranch to scope out my piece for Spring. Here are some shots I got:

WYOVIEW - Project History

The project was launched in 2013 together with local artists Kathryn Turner, Jennifer Hoffman, and Bill Sawczuk. In 2014, Kay Northup, Lee Riddell, and Travis Walker joined the project. In 2015, we expanded the project in celebration of the Jackson Hole Land Trust’s 35th anniversary to showcase 35 local artists working in a variety of visual media. In 2016 19 local artists explored easement-protected open access properties throughout Teton County. The 2017 View22: Field Study project once again expanded to included 21 artists painting on 18 properties from Teton, Sublette, and Fremont Counties. 2018 Vision In 2018, we are pleased to announce WyoView: Four Seasons, a year-long study of Jackson Hole Land Trust protected properties. 19 artists will have the opportunity to visit the same site throughout the year, and will submit four paintings to our exhibit – one for each season. The goal of

WyoView: Four Seasons

is to continue the momentum of the 2017 project, and allow artists to form deep connections to the conservation land they are working on and to portray through their art the changes and cycles that take place on the landscape throughout the course of a year. New for 2018, the Land Trust will partner with the Art Association to bring a more youthful element to WyoView, through a partnership with the Art Association’s Plein Air Painting and Drawing summer camp. The Land Trust will secure painting destinations on JHLT-protected properties for the camp venues on a rotating basis.

The WyoView: Four Seasons exhibit will take place in December in conjunction with our Holiday Open House.

Artist in Residence this Summer

Artist in Residence this Summer

Over the winter I was the Artist in Residence at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole. During my time there, I did live demonstrations and created a total of 10 paintings, Allister the Bear pictured above, was one of the paintings I displayed and sold. This summer, I will be completing an Artist in Residence program at the Marriott in downtown Jackson WY as well as the Four Seasons. Again, I will be live demonstrating and selling my body of work.
